About the Teacher

I have a bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.  I obtained my teaching degree through the alternative placement program of the Oklahoma State Department of Education.  Prior to teaching, I worked for the United States Department of Agriculture as a Biological Research Lab Technician at the Research Center in Lane, Oklahoma.  

This is my ninth  year to teach in the Rattan Public School system.  I currently teach three lab science classes:  Chemistry, Advanced Placement Biology, and  Physical Science. My husband is the Technology Coordinator for our school and we have three children (Lyndsi, Kayli & Easton) who attend Rattan Junior High and Elementary.  It is truly a wonderful school system to be a part of.

Mission for My Classes

In addition to covering the content standards in each of my science courses, I hope to foster a deeper understanding of the fascinating world of science.  I hope to instill in my students not only a love for science, but a passion for learning.
