There are three different ways you can help. Craft Supply Donations - To help ease children's apprehension and fear as they wait for their appointments, staff members and volunteers make crafts with the children. Donate any type of supplies that could be used for crafts. Some examples are construction paper, markers, crayons, glue, paints, popsicle sticks, foam letters, stickers, paint pens, sticky jewels, etc. "Toy Closet" Donations - Donate a $5.00 new toy to the "toy closet". Children with cancer have to have painful procedures such as bone marrow biopsies. The “closet” is full of toys for all ages and gift cards. Patients pick a gift on their birthday or following a painful procedure. Children quickly get through their procedure so they can visit the Toy Closet! Kaps for Kids - Donate a new, never worn cap for children who have lost their hair to chemotherapy.
We will have specially marked drop boxes in the Elementary &
JH/HS Buildings where you can drop your donation off. − All donated items must be new. This is important since many children have illnesses that make them more susceptible to germs. If you have any questions, please call 298-7498 or email me at sherryf@rattan.k12.ok.us |
